Kids Supplements – 3 & Done

This article is intended for kids that are in school, approximately ranging from Kindergarten to Grade 5. I have 3 kids of my own and their ages are 5, 7, and 9.

With so much on the market, it is really hard to determine which supplements to give your child. While there are so many factors such as age, size, developmental stage, and lastly, all kids are different and may have underlying health concerns. Therefore, this article is intended for kids that are in school, approximately ranging from Kindergarten to Grade 5. I have 3 kids of my own and their ages are 5, 7, and 9. For more information about me, you can find it here.

Assuming your child is healthy and your goal is to ensure they maintain a strong immune system and prevent the cold and flu season, these would be my top 3.

  1. PROBIOTICS: We carry the Renew Life brand and you can choose from a powder which can be mixed in yogurt or there is a chewable formula called Flora Bear that I sometimes catch myself popping a couple because they taste so good! Probiotics make the top 3 because they help maintain a strong immune system. Take them every day to keep healthy digestion going. Also very helpful for regular bowel movements. If constipation is an issue and you are having trouble getting veggies in your kiddos, probiotics will really help.
  2. FISH OIL: My kids really like the Alive Vitamins Kid’s DHA. They are tiny soft gels that are about the size of a green pea and they are orange creamsicle flavoured and again they taste awesome. Fish Oil makes the top 3 because the essential fatty acid DHA helps their brains focus and concentrate.
  3. IMMUNE SUPPORT: A. Vogel Echinaforce ® Cold & Flu Junior is a must in our household. I always have the adult and junior formula at home and we take it at the first sign of issues. Relieves children’s cold symptoms: Cold symptom reliever. Fortifies children’s immune system ahead of the cold season. Great chewable orange tablets to take at first signs of cold symptoms.

You might be wondering why I didn’t put a multivitamin in here? The reason I did not include a multi in the top 3 is that many parents already give their kids a multi. It is one of the most basic places to start. For more information on what we carry, you can see ShopAlive.

My kids do take multi-vitamins and they take Sisu U-Cubes. This is an all-time favourite. We also take Progressive VegeGreens and we take their Progressive PhytoBerry Powder. We use our Vitamix almost every other morning. This is where you can add in some quality meal replacements and extra protein and fiber.

Improving your health is really a lot of fun once you have a few goals in place and once you know where to start. Right now is a good time to dive into the world of supplements as we have our Fall Flyer Sale in effect until October 21st, 2020. The key to improving your health long term is to have the whole family on board. Make small changes together and make health a priority. If you are just starting out, start slow but be consistent is the key.

Without commitment, you’ll never start, but more importantly without consistency, you’ll never finish.”
