Seabuckthorn Talked About on Dr. Oz

1) What is the difference between Seabuckthorn Seed and Fruit (Berry) Oils?

Part One:

The practical difference is the light amber colored Seed Oil absorbs into the skin faster than the very orange Fruit Oil. Always start with putting the Seed Oil on
the skin first. Get used to applying the Seed Oil, then progress to using the two oils together. This is the ultimate serum blend for the skin. It is called SBT Single Source Oil and it is a blend of one part Seed Oil and one part Fruit Oil. Creating a different blend with a higher concentration of Seed Oil makes a lot of sense; adjusting to ones individuals needs is appropriate. I encourage you to do your own “experiments” by treating your skin to different combinations. Have fun with this.

The Seed Oil, from the seed of the berry, is again, a great way to discover Seabuckthorn’s healing and regenerative properties inside and out. Try a drop on the back of your hand, and your customer’s hand, and rub it in to see how quickly and easily it absorbs and that it does not feel greasy and leaves your skin feeling soft and supple. This is how easy it is to sell.

Part Two:

Briefly, the constituent profile difference between the Oils is the Seed Oil has up to 95% EFA with the same 106 nutrients in total that fruit oil has, including 22 fatty acids, 42 lipids, 6 fat soluble Vitamins (including Vitamin K and all 8 isomers of Vitamin E), 36 kinds of Flavonoids and Phenols, Lecithin, (with the PC being 47%.), and a recently new total of 41 discovered Carotenoids. Also include 8 Phospholipids and 17 Phytosterols. The Seed Oil has Omega 3 and 6 at an optimum one to one ratio and contains less than 2% Omega 7. Seabuckthorn Seed Oil is a remarkable whole food supplement and arguably has more healthy components and constituents than any other supplement, or food, beneficial to health.

The Fruit Oil’s profile of nutrients compared to seed oil includes, 3 times more palmitic acid, is up to half palmitoleic acid, (Omega 7), twice as much Lecithin and Vitamin E and significantly more concentration of Carotenoids, specifically, Beta-Carotene and Lycopene. The dark orange color is attributed to high concentration of Carotenoids. Functionally, using straight fruit oil alone topically is not recommended because of the dark color and slower skin absorption time. No harm is done using it alone, it does create results of leaving the skin soft and supple if one is patient enough. Also internally, it stands on it’s own as a giant among supplements and whole food supplements.

2) Which products are for what? i.e. What do you use the seed oil for? What do you use the fruit oil for? Etc.

As mentioned, start with the Seed Oil first for anything from moisturizing to very therapeutic purposes, mostly skin issues and there are many internal issues Seabuckthorn is used for. It’s for everything the body needs, topically and internally. As a Canadian Company, SBT Seabuckthorn focuses on natural treatments for Acne and Rosacea and leaves the discovery of everything else to the experts. 3) What do I start with for resolving my (   fill in blank   )?    (i.e. Rosacea, Acne, Psoriasis, Dry Skin, Eczema, Skin Cancer, etc.)

Start with the Seed Oil, topically and internally. How much?  Topically a few drops depending on the area. 100% pure on the face, for larger areas of the body use the SBT Anti-Aging Body Cream. Internally, start with one capsule a day for one week, then go to two a day. If you have an acute health situation take more. Taking drops from the bottles is an alternative, 10 drops from once to 3 times or more a day is okay. We cannot get too much of this kind of whole food nutrition.

The SBT Single Source capsules are a step up from the Seed Oil Capsules. Everyone can start on the Single Source capsules, except for people with a very challenging Acne condition. Wait till the Acne has cleared up significantly before trying the Single Source, topically and internally.

Alive Brand Kids DHA: Helps Kids Focus

Alive DHA for Kids!

Parents are always coming in looking for a good quality fish oil to help their kids brains develop the best they can.  Half the battle is finding that balance of a good quality fish oil with lots of the essential fatty acid DHA, but one that tastes good!  There is a solution!  The Alive Kids DHA is extremely clean and therefore is free from any chemicals/toxins.  All Alive fish oils go through rigorous testing and since the beginning, we have received the highest standard of quality there is when it comes to fish oil.  The source of fish is from the cold pristine Norwegian waters. 

The break down is 250mg total omega 3 per capsule, then you have EPA and DHA.  These are the essential fatty acids from the omega 3.  EPA is for skin and things like inflammation, therefore wonderful for kids who have dry itchy skin.  DHA is what parents are always concerned about and want to give their kids lots of so that they have healthy brains! DHA helps with mental focus, intelligence, and even attention deficit disorder.  The break down is as follows:
 

Total omega 3: 250mg
DHA: 100mg
EPA: 25mg
Note this is per soft gel. 
 
Dosage: 

Generally, take 3 soft gels daily, however the size of the child is more important than the age when it comes to dosage.  Also fish oil is one of those things where more is good!  Typically little ones like 3 years old will take 2 or 3 and then we always recommend higher than what the bottle says for kids that are older like 8 or 9 but still want to take the yummy fish oil, but are not ready to take on a liquid form.  An 8 year old can easily take 6 soft gels a day, especially for a child who is having trouble focussing, distrupting the class, or is struggling with school work. 
 
Description:

The soft gel is the size of a green pea.  It is meant to be chewed.  There is liquid inside the gel and it is the flavour of an orange burst! Kids love it.  It is sweetened with Stevia.  Stevia is a good natural sweetener with NO calories, but it is from a plant source all safe and 100% natural.  Stevia sweetener is what is sold in Health Stores and has been helping diabetics for years.  Please do not confuse Stevia with sucrolose or splenda.  These are the less desirable sweeteners. As for the material of the soft gel, there is no pork in the soft gel.  All Alive Gelatin is bovine source or vegetarian.  The Alive Kids DHA is bovine.  There are no fillers in the fish oil and there is NO wheat, soy, gluten, dairy or corn.  This makes the product easy for kids who have sensitivies. 

Also, just another note: I am about 7 months pregnant and as you may know, fish oil is extremely important for pregnant women to take so that the development of the babies brain is the best it can be!  In the first trimester I did have morning sickness, and I found that  the Alive Kids DHA was one of the only fish oils I could keep down!  So there is a little tip if you know any other pregnant women having trouble finding a fish oil….

Resveratrol Antioxidant!

Resveratrol is an antioxidant that is found in the skin of red grapes and is a constituent of red wine.  There are many antioxidants out there, but they all specialize in different things.  It is most recommended to take a few of them and not limit yourself.  For example, if you are already using Grape Seed extract you can take Resveratrol too!  Think of a school and all of its parts.  There are many people that make things happen.  There is the guidance counsellor, the principal and teachers.  Imagine if we thought, I already have a Mathematics teacher so I do not need an English teacher.   While they are both teachers they do completely different things; this is the same thinking when it comes to antioxidants. 

What does Resveratrol do?
